I joined Hilti at a factory in England, straight after finishing my studies. At the time about the only thing I knew about the company was that it played at the top of its sector. As I developed, I realised that the supply chain wasn’t the area for me. I simply wasn’t passionate enough about it. I’d always had supportive Team Leaders, and was able to move into the Product Development side of the business. I loved it. Understanding the technology, learning about the market, and working together with teams that both contrasted and completed each other, we got it done. Seeing what you’ve been involved with bring significant business results was rewarding. Seeing the legacy trickling down the following product generations, an ongoing payback.
I could have stayed in that role forever, but having seen the marketing side of the business I wanted to experience and learn more. Soon I was off around the world helping develop our Mining business. Product development. Customer trials & contract negotiation. It was an amazing feeling of being a start-up business within a bigger group. After a decade in various roles it was time for a change. I moved into a team focused on the Electrical Power Sector. I soon noticed an underdeveloped opportunity and started professionalising our approach in terms of sales and product offering. A great opportunity to develop the business and myself.
Supporting others, indirectly, as a mentor, or direct team lead. It’s what makes it work. Giving the support rewarding as you see people develop. Receiving the support, vital for your own growth.

Career history at Hilti
With my major field of study international technical sales, Hilti seemed to me to be the perfect employer at a career fair in 2014 and this has been confirmed from the very beginning.
At the beginning of my 6-year career, I applied for a position as a technical consultant in the field service. In retrospect, I know that this position would not have suited me and my strengths. I was particularly enthusiastic that Hilti took the time to clarify in a telephone interview exactly what I enjoyed and how I could use my skills profitably. So I started in the customer service department as a sales consultant.
I was still fascinated by the idea of personally convincing customers of our products in a red car. So after one year I got the chance to look after my own sales area.
My special Hilti moment was in 2017 when I got the confidence and the encouragement to lead my own team in customer service at the age of 21. In 2019 I took over the management of a project to improve the cooperation between the office and field service and successfully implemented it for the entire sales department. I quickly grew with these new challenges and received great support from colleagues and superiors. After 3 years of management responsibility in 1st level support of customer service I wanted to get to know a new area and since the beginning of 2020 I am leading the software support team in Germany. I am looking forward to further exciting stations on my Hilti journey.

At Hilti, the employees are the foundation of the company's strategy and this strategy is also lived by each individual and you notice that from the first minute of getting to know the company. Therefore, after the interview, the desire to belong was great. And this impression of the "we-feeling", the cohesion, etc. is simply brilliant and makes you proud to be a part of it.
Direct sales form the DNA of the company and are also an important foundation stone for all further development steps. And DEVELOPMENT is written really BIG at Hilti. Therefore, the desire to experience direct sales live was great. With regard to my current position at Hilti, it was very important and instructive for me to start in sales. Through direct sales, I was able to gain practical experience and knowledge about all Hilti equipment and services, as well as the work processes on site at the construction sites. This is an enormous advantage for my current position as a team leader in Customer Service in Bebra, as it helps me in my daily work to better understand the customer and their needs.
The personnel development at Hilti is unique. Hilti has a very good concept for the strategic development of employees. The opportunities and possibilities are very diverse.
As an employee, you receive support in all areas, development goals are defined together with your supervisor, and you work towards these goals together in a targeted manner. There are no limits to development at Hilti.
The biggest challenge was right at the beginning at Hilti. Initially, I was very worried about whether I would be able to cope with everything, as I had no previous experience in the construction industry or with Hilti equipment. But all my concerns were unnecessary, I was warmly welcomed into my new team and every Hilti employee, regardless of department or hierarchy, is always available to answer questions, offer advice and support. The craftsmen on the construction site were also looking forward to my visit and forgave me for one or two initial mistakes.
The people and the "we-feeling" make Hilti a special employer. At no time are you alone anywhere in the company. You get support from all departments and hierarchies. I am simply proud to be a part of the whole and am happy every day to be able to make my contribution and to contribute to the success and the spirit.

I first started with Hilti as a Sales Intern in Phoenix, Arizona while pursuing an MBA at Thunderbird School of Global Management. As an intern, I was responsible for real projects that resolved complex business problems. I was given freedom and guidance to figure out how to solve challenges, and my recommendations were put into action by Hilti leaders. The experience gave me a preview of what a career at Hilti could be like. After graduation, I chose to continue my Hilti journey as an Account Manager in the Phoenix market. Since joining Hilti, I have had many cross-functional development opportunities in several areas of the business, including sales, human resources and marketing. Each new role felt like a risk at first, but it has always been clear that Hilti wants me to succeed in any challenge and will provide all the necessary training and support. I’ve learned so much from these experiences and stretch assignments, and the things I've learned have benefited me in my current role as a Division Manager. As a Division Manager, I continue to be impressed by the sales culture at Hilti. We love to win, and we love to do it as a team. We train hard, we work hard, and we celebrate success. When we have setbacks and losses, we come together as a team and work to make our next attempt successful. I love coaching and leading others within that environment. For the future, I look forward to opportunities to develop my career across the globe. In every role, I have interacted with colleagues from around the world. Our teams are diverse in every aspect, and that makes my daily work even more meaningful.
Career history at Hilti
I joined Hilti 11 years ago and spent my first three years training sales teams in customer relationship management. It was an exciting experience for me because being so close to the sales force gave me a great understanding of the Hilti business model. I then moved to our product marketing team in Italy’s head office. I was a chemical product manager responsible for developing our product strategy for fire stop and PU foam. From there, I went into strategic marketing as a trade manager, which meant working with area sales managers to improve competence among account managers and to implement corporate strategy in that specific segment.
That’s three different jobs in six years - and this was just in Milan.
From there, I moved to Sicily and back into sales, this time as area sales manager. It was a great opportunity to leave the business environment and learn how to manage a team in the field. I was so happy.
Right now, I’m in the north west of Italy as sales director for a much bigger region. I’m still learning so much, yet, with every new role, I feel I can contribute more and more. I also feel there’s space to express my entrepreneurial spirit. Hilti let me do that.
Throughout my career, my different managers have constantly given me feedback to increase my own awareness of my strengths and areas for development. It’s been thanks to this that I’ve realized my career path is steered towards sales.
In fact, my proudest moment was achieving top sales growth and credit management as area sales manager in Sicily. Although, saying that, developing people is perhaps my greatest achievement.
